When I first met Allison earlier this spring at my studio, I knew she was somethin’ special. The conversation came easy and the laughs came even easier. . . .pure sunshine.   Just recently, I got to meet Tim. It took me only 30 seconds to realize that I love this couple!  Our “get to know you” session  was a piece of cake, despite the August humidity.   Allison and Tim have a great love for one another . . . they laugh so easily together and were willing to try anything I suggested. Have I mentioned the I love this couple?! They are best friends and if their autumn wedding at the Tremont is anything like this engagement session, it’s going to be incredible beautiful and a ton of fun!

We got to help welcome Trent Alan to the world yesterday. With THREE big sisters, he will be the most marriageable  guy in town.

Jenn and Mike are so enamored, obviously. He is just perfect . . . perfect toes, perfect newborn smell, perfect little cowlick in the the top of his head . . . and blissfully zonked the entire time we passed him from arms to arms. the newborn honeymoon.

Queen Anne Marina. Part II.

Posted in Weddings on August 1, 2009 by Kathy Freundel

I raved a couple of weeks ago about the elegant wedding of Elaine and Mike Scivetti overlooking the Chesapeake Bay from beautiful Kent Island.

elaine_mike-6

Mike and Elaine went to high school together in Maryland, and from hearing everyone speak, he carried a torch for her for many years.

elaine_mike-9

By the way that she looked at him and her infectious giggle, it’s obvious  that she is just as much enamored as he.

They just returned from a month in Italy . . . what a way to start a new life together!!

Wanted to share some shots from Tim Hinsche, who shot this wedding with me. I am so blessed to work with such great shooters!!

Rachel. Sunny Side Up.

Rachel just turned sixteen. Remember her crazy murder mystery party?? She’s Enchanted’s Giselle in the flesh, and I promised that I’d do a quirky, funny photo shoot of her as Giselle.

But . . . that’s not how the day went. Rachel has so many facets . . . hard to believe she’s already only sixteen.

kathyfreundel-1

Pensive and reflective . . . I know when that facet shines, there are a million noble thoughts and dreams going in her head.

kathyfreundel-8

Here’s a little taste of the sweet sixteen party girl, Gisellesque Rachel.

kathyfreundel-7

Here’s the Jane Austen lovin’, girl after my own heart, escape in a great book Rachel. She’s more well read than I ever hope to be.

It’s one of her secret indulgences.

kathyfreundel-6

Lizzy Bennett. Scout Finch. Meg and Jo. and Jesus.

Friends she knows well.

kathyfreundel-2

pure.  gorgeous. sunshine.

kathyfreundel-9

We saw this sculpture from the side and both thought it was a rock climbing wall.

It was at the end of our very hot photo shoot but we couldn’t resist it!

There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.

Katie’s senior session was a breathe of fresh air.

We had the best summer night to explore every part of Roop’s Mill.  We had beautiful sunset light, temps in the mid 70’s (in JULY!) and heard faint thunder rumblings only  at the end of our session. Senior Session Perfection :)

Katie will be a senior at Winter’s Mill High School, and is a lacrosse and hockey player.

She has the prettiest blue eyes, and her fresh, natural look is just gorgeous.

She is as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside.

Elaine. Mike.

The summer evening Kent Island wedding of Elaine and Mike was, in a nutshell,  Eastern Shore bliss.

Here’s the challenge. Elaine and Mike both work and live right in the heart of D.C., so they RAN for the Bay Bridge to celebrate their wedding, because everyone from these parts knows that when you cross that bridge, you enter a different world. The Queen Anne Marina, nestled between the Chesapeake Bay and Pipe’s Creek, provided an exquisite, private waterfront backdrop, and their guests truly enjoyed everything Maryland . Raw oysters. Bay breeze. Golden sunset. Relaxed elegance.

Elaine and Mike did so many things right when planning their wedding. They focused on the things that were important to them both, and didn’t stress about the myriad of wedding details. They were married surrounded by good friends, good food. good music, and lots of laughter.

Tim Hinsche of Hanover, PA shot this wedding with me, and had this little man movin’ and groovin’ right into his lens much of the evening. I’ll post some when I get ‘em :)

Tara. Paul.

I met Tara and Paul and their daughter, Haley in historic Annapolis for their “get to know you” shoot. The were on the tail end of an east coast beach vacation, having flown in from their home in Colorado. They will come back in September to be married on the water at Swan Cove Manor

in Cambridge, Maryland.

tara_paul-8

We roamed the campus of St. John’s College, Fleet Street, and the quaint little side streets of Old Annapolis on the most beautiful of summer days.

tara_paul-2

Twelve year old, Haley, was a welcomed addition to our romantic shoot . . . she is FULL of love and light, and will be Tara’s maid of honor.

tara_paul-3

Tara and Paul are both East Coasters who could have met at University of Pennsylvania where they both earned their VMD’s . . . but they just missed each other. Fast forward several years to Colorado State, where Tara had gone to become a veterinary surgical oncologist and Paul was a professor and veterinary clinical pathologist. They LOVE Colorado, they LOVE one another and they LOVE their sweet girl, Haley. They will build a beautiful life together in their hundred year old cottage in Fort Collins.

Sweet. Sixteen.

Rachel’s sweet sixteen surprise party was one step past ingenious. My sister, the queen of all party throwin’,  wrote a murder mystery, complete with a kidnapping, multiple locations and a cast of crazy characters. Kind of Clue meets So You Think You’ve Got Talent?

rachel-3

Rachel thought we were having her sweet sixteen photo shoot, and planned to do a “Giselle from Enchanted” kinda shoot, because if you knew my niece . . . well, she IS Giselle.

Instead of me showing for the shoot, she got kidnapped by two knights in not so shining armor, and transported to location #2.

rachel-4

Oh yeah.

rachel-5

rachel-6

Goldie Frocks and Tina Fa-lay.

rachel-7

The guests were divided into teams, given their challenge and put on a bus to a secret location.

rachel-8

First event. Drivin’ Miss Daisy. You get the point.

rachel-9

rachel-11

Next event. Write a commercial using random props. This one was “all I got for Christmas was . . . “

rachel-12

You guessed it. Snakes on a plane.

rachel-13

Sit down, candlelit meal right beside the lake.

rachel-14

And that was just the daylight part.  As dusk turned to dark, they had relay races, paddleboat races, and a  melodrama.  Then they danced the night away under the stars.

More to come. Cause we really are doing the Giselle shoot :)

Rachael. Erin. Best friends.

rachael_erin-11

Rachael and Erin have been next door neighbors and best friends for going on ten years.

rachael_erin-3

Like most best friends, they finish each other’s sentences and  say the same thing at the same time.

rachael_erin-2

Now they’re at a crossroads. Rachael will head off to York College of Pennsylvania in about six weeks, and Erin will pack her bags for Bridgewater College in Virginia.

rachael_erin-10

Time to  capture their sweet friendship on the cusp of a new adventure.

rachael_erin-1

Don’t think they’ll drift very far apart.

rachael_erin-5

They are wise enough to know the treasure of a ya.

rachael_erin-9

They are running over with hopes and dreams and I know they’ll be there for one another through it all.

rachael_erin-8

rachael_erin-7

I know about eight Freundeli’s that are really gonna’ miss these gals. They’ve added magic to the month of June for us.

rachael_erin-6

Promise you won’t forget me. Because if I thought you would, I’d never leave.
